Heres your solution, I had the same problem. Purchase Thermaltake Black Widow PC Gaming Hard Drive eSata + USB Docking Station (part number: ST0005U). I got mine at Best Buy for $55, but Im sure you can find it online for much less. Good luck - trust me this works..... oh and by the way, dont buy a SATA-to-USB cable because your USB port on your PC does not provide enough power to the hard drive and you wont be able to access your drive.

i bought a 2 tb segate ext hard drive in feb this year , iwas connecting the leads to it and while pushing the usb lead in to hard drive it snapped the connector of the circuit board in the casing i have tried to fix it my self but with out success can you get a new circuit board to buy, on that it would be an idea to have a stronger connecting system ie have the same usb connector that goes on computer in to the hard drive.

same issue usb connector broke off. the soldering job is garbage. the connection is unrepairable. class action law suit in the making. seagate will gladly recover your data for a price. I will NOT NOT NOT NOT buy this product ever again.

Hi, Ive been using my hard drive for over a year now without any problems until now. Where the cables enter the hard drive casing (power & usb cables) the connection has snapped off inside. Ive taken the actual hard drive out & taken the the circuit board off with the 2 (broken) connections (USB & power). Hi, i need a seagate mainboard v2r1 raptar as the miniusb port has snapped off the main board so it is useless.

Hi, I bought a new HD154UI the other week, and when I was upgrading the memory some days later, I was not careful enough so I did a shortcut on the PCB of the HDD... and now I can not read my files an more... :( I am an engineer, and it seems pretty easy to exchange the PCB. Therefore I wonder if it is possible to get just a new PCB from you? Hi. My father has a Seagate 350gig external hard drive that has recently stopped working. It has not been dropped or sustained any physical damage and has not seen that much use. It simply would not spin up from the last time it was used. A local repair shop has examined it, and it seems that there is a faulty or damaged circuit board.
