i have a vm-ex25p which has not been used for some years i have replaced the lithium battery and have conected it to the mains but it will not turn on / power up any ideas as to what to try next.

Hello could anyone help with this problem please. I own an old Sanyo VM-RZ2P Video camera. The camera still functions well in every respect except that in playback mode the output to a TV is only in black and white. This happens with a recorded tape known to have originally been in colour. It occurs using the scart lead, the video/audio jacks or the UHF adaptor, however when you set the camera to live feed the link comes through ok in colour. I have recorded new footage which also plays back in Black & White. This suggests that the fault lies only in the playback area (although it could now be also recording in B/W if the heads or connections are faulty and serve a dual purpose). The unit is in good condition with no obvious damage to any components. The fault seems to have started after a longish period of non use rather than suddenly during a recording session, and came to light whilst trying to produce DVD copies from the original tapes to replace old VHS tapes made using a recorder. I have taken the unit apart and cleaned just about all of the miniature connectors, (also the playback heads). I have lightly tapped areas of the board including potentiometers and trimmers (but not adjusted) to see if any had failed due to dust etc, all to no effect I have found a similar query to this from another owner on this forum in July 2009 and wondered if any solution had been suggested Many thanks to anyone who can suggest anything. hi the camera still works but the screen has gone from pixelated to black/blank, has the rribbon / screen died, can i replace it? its a vpc-ca65gx cheers

Ive a Sony VM- D9P which Ive used for years. Last week the foam cover on the microphone disintigrated. I tried using foam from a watch case but is not very successful has any-one any good ideas? PETE

vpc-ca9. I have 2 of these with the same problem. The ribbon cable for the lcd has broken from opening and closing the display. Also I need a battery contact and also the tripod mount base piece. The ribbon cable failure appears to be a design flaw. Anyone know about this? Where to get parts?

The LCD screen display on my Sanyo Xacti VPV-CA6 camcorder goes blank when in the fully open position but the display works again when it is returned to the closed position but the camera still switched on. Think the flexi ribbon connector may be at fault. Suggestions and how I can get the part or repairs please. Approx cost also.

I own a Sanyo VM-RZ2P 8mm camcorder, which has always given good service. I have not used it for about 2 years and recently took it out to record the cassettes onto DVD. I now find that it only plays and records in black & white. Strangely enough, when I fast-forward it in play mode, the picture shows colour. When I stop fast-forwarding, it shows colour for about 1 second then goes back to black & white. I have tried cleaning the heads, but this has not worked. While playing, every now and then there are is an half-hearted attempt at colour or lines of colour. Please advise what the problem could be. Thank you.
