Ali - Fri, Dec 9th 2011, 18:37I have a Samsung HR730 A DVD recorder with Hard Drive The machine will not play DVDs, no video or audio appears on the TV although it will play audio cds and the track information appears on the TV Any suggestions as to the fault would be gratefully received

victor fisher - Sun, Jan 31st 2010, 16:23I have samsung dvd sh853m. when i turn it on the on light appears and then the loading which freezes there and does not move on. i opened up the case and put is a cd. the cd revovlves around but the loading light does not go away. i can not change it by pressing any of the buttons dvd/stop/play, etc. please tell if you have idea what is going on.

The DVD will play Films and CD`s loaded with pictures taken from a digital camers but will not play music CD`s ( Copied ande Genuine CD`s ). whe the CD draw is retracted the CD player tries to play the CD, but as the motor spins the CD it is not retained in the centre position, as the try ejects the CD the CD is pushed into the centre position and appears ok. It is as if when the CD starts to play the motor located in the CD but does not clamp it in position, but is ok with films and CD`s copied with pictures ?.
