My DR175 DVD Recorder refuses to load dvds. It closes then opens constantly with probably one attempt in dozens to get a disc to load or read. I guess I need a new drive unit (which was replaced under warranty before!)

Ive got an LG DR4810 DVD Recorder, about six years old. It stopped functioning properly during a recording (would not save it) and now will not read any discs. I cleaned the lens, but that didnt help. Having taken it apart, it looks like a regular DVD rewriter inside, like you would get in a computer. Can I just buy one of those and put it inside?

I have an LG surround sound system - the dvd player now refuses to play any discs - it doesnt seem to be picking them up and spinning them - is there a way to sort this problem or how can i attach my speakers to something else and use them - they attach to the dvd player by a black and red cable for each of them there is 5 speakers and a sub-woofer.

Hi there, I have an LG DVD player, model DR7800 there is a fault in the drive mechanism that is holding the power rails down. I found it to be the hub motor. Can I source either a new motor or a new disc mechanism to make a repair? Thanks Jon
